Queensland Ag Shows conducts various annual competitions state-wide for people of all ages. These competitions aim to encourage involvement in in the Queensland Show movement and provide an opportunity for people keen to compete at the local show. The majority of these competitions culminate at the Royal Queensland Show each year. These competitions are:
A competition for young people between 20 and 29 years of age who are actively involved in Queensland's Show movement or have a strong affiliation towards agriculture and have knowledge about current rural issues pertaining to their local area, Queensland and Australia.
RURAL AMBASSADOR AWARDS

Aimed at ensuring there is a selective panel of judges for the future, this competition is for young people aged between 15 and 25 years of age (as at 1st of May in the year of Competitor's State Final) interested in judging Stud Beef, Prime and Dairy Cattle, Merino Sheep, Fleece, Meat Sheep and Grain. The State winner is eligible to compete at the National Final (excluding the Prime Cattle competition).
This competition for young people between 15 and 25 years of age (as at 1st of May in the year of Competitor's State Final) interested in parading Stud Beef and Dairy Cattle. The State winner is eligible to compete at the National Finals.

Garment sewing competitions open to people of all ages, Natural Fibres was implemented to promote the primary production of cotton in Queensland.

This is an RNA competition and is sponsored by Queensland Ag Shows. It is a State-wide promotion for the popular craft of quilting, open to people of all ages. The Best Representative Quilt from the local Show is eligible for judging at State level.
